Ciao everyone! This post is about the invisible ink messages for the SLJ. I made this a while ago but forgot to post it 😅 To make invisible ink you use lemon juice. You dip a cotton bud in lemon juice and write whatever you want, then it dries up. When you put it over a stove or heat source, the messages show! It was a bit hard using the heat source but fun writing the messages! Here it is!

It is a bit hard to see, but there is a heart in the top left corner!

annyeonghaseyo everyone! This post is about the SLJ Draw a Kowhai task! There are eight species of the Kowhai flower that are native to NZ! I forgot to take photos at every step 🤭 so sorry about that. I loved this task because I really like drawing so this was amazingly fun. I used the normal tutorial video but added a little ✨PIZAZZ✨

Talofa everyone! This post is about the Nature rubbings for the SLJ. So nature rubbing is when you press two pieces of paper together and put a flower or a leaf in the middle. Then on the top one you color over it with a circle and the leaf or flower’s markings will appear on the paper! I really liked this task because I have done nature rubbings before and they are super fun to do! It was a bit hard getting the leaf flat but after that it was super fun doing the coloring! Here’s my rubbing!

Ciao everyone! This post is about the SLJ beach day activity! You had to use a story template and add nouns, adjectives, and verbs! I put myself and my friend Danica in the story! Then you had to make a Google Drawing to go along with your drawing! I really liked this task because you can draw as well as write! It was a bit hard finding the images for the drawing, but it was fun seeing the finished result! Here is my image and edited story!

I based them off a video game called Among Us, so I used the same character shape but made my own designs and turned them into cards. Bula everyone! This post is about the SLJ Character creation! I made a monster using Google Draw! It’s the cousin of a lion. The story is one day a lion went to the gates of God’s house and God got so angry he turned him into a monster. I tried to make him look angry but he just ended up looking a bit cute! It was a bit hard thinking of an idea but once I got it it was really fun designing the monster! I used Google shapes to draw this with a template from the SLJ! Here it is!

My creature’s name is a Maw and it has two razor sharp horns on top of it’s head. It’s a cousin of a lion. It’s origin story is that once a lion went wandering up to the gates of God. god was so angry that he cursed the lion to become a monster. It has big eyes and sharp teeth and a fluffy mane. It’s always angry.

Hola everyone! This post is about the SLJ summer Space Invaders task. Space Invaders is a game where you have a rocket ship and aliens come at you and you have to shoot them. You probably have heard of it/played it before. So we had to use a website called GeoGebra to make characters for  Summer themed Space Invaders! They had to be no more than 16×16 pixels. Pixels are tiny squares and there’s a lot of information, so I will just say some things. The more pixels an image has, the more clear the image is. Here are my two characters. My invaders are crabs and the ship is a wave which shoots out water droplets, because it’s summer themed! Here it is. (I haven’t made the actual game, just images of what the characters would look like. The images are in 16 by 16 squares!)

Ciao everyone! This post is about the character creations for the SLJ! I drew a comic of the story The Emperor’s Seed. It was a bit challenging telling the whole story in a comic, but it was super fun doing the illustrations! Here is the comic and the link to the story if you want to read it as well. The emperor looks..

[Emperor] why is the pot empty?

[Ling] I watered it everyday but it did not grow.

9th box: [Emperor] THE WINNER! The seeds I gave out were all boiled!
